This box set publication by Tris Vonna-Michell is comprised of the artist’s collated printed matter, alongside a newly commissioned essay by Yuki Higashino.
Presented as a series of loose-bound documents, each bespoke box in the edition of 250 is unique in its order of composition. As an expansion of Vonna-Michell’s practice, the publication presents off-set printed material consisting of performance transcripts, textual and visual scores and imagery.
In contrast to Vonna-Michell’s performed works since the mid-2000s, the narratives in the publication operate on a different temporal register. The core aspiration is to disinter the process and afterlife of performing and to address the making of an artist book. In essence, this publication is a distinct project that reflects Vonna-Michell’s practice by reiterating and revising stories in a process that allows for multiple interpretations and trajectories.
The box set is published and distributed by three independent publishing houses: BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE (Berlin), Mount Analogue (Stockholm) and Slimvolume (London). Hardback (boxed), containing a booklet with loose sheets, 297mm x 210mm. Each copy is unique.
